BRANCHES is the story of a Black woman tech founder and entrepreneur who is drawn back to her hometown of Philadelphia upon the sudden death of her mother. As she reacquaints herself with a vibrant and energetic Philly and tends to family affairs, she begins to learn more about her family than she ever knew:

• Her father, a Civil Rights Era icon who also had the rare distinction of being a Black gangster in the Italian mob;

• Her mother, an innovative occult priestess celebrated everywhere from the streets of Philadelphia to the rain forests of the Amazon; and

• Her uncle, who rose to the level of the Chief of Detectives as a Black man in the Philadelphia Police Department of the 1970s,

and the utterly unique suburban existence they forged amid their bold pursuits in notoriously secretive and dangerous worlds.
